Plans have been submitted to replace Preston's Odeon cinema with a temporary car park after the former cinema venue was significantly damaged in a fire.
Plans to replace the site with a temporary car park follow a previous application to demolish the remains of the building, including the Art Deco facade. If the demolition is approved, the next phase would see the site levelled to match the surrounding roads including Church Street, Main Spirit Weind and Old Cock Yard.
“Therefore, in the meantime, the site can easily be occupied as a car park, with minimal impacts and serve central Preston with additional car parking spaces supporting the city centre economy.”
