AN EMPTY shop in Glasgow will soon be transformed into a new caféMC Trustees has been granted permission to operate a business from the premises at 1309 Pollokshaws Road, in the city's Southside. As part of theprocess, the applicant has been given permission to install a new flue at the rear of the building.
Documents uploaded to the planning portal revealed that the local cafe will be offering a selection of cold foods, sandwiches, salads, cakes and biscuits as well as a range of coffees, teas, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks.Proposed opening hours are 8am-10pm, seven days a week.A statement read:"It is unlikely that there will be any cooking which would require an external flue. However, to ensure that the local amenity is protected at all times, an extraction flue will be installed.
"The proposed change of use will see this vacant unit transformed into a small local café providing a local venue to meet and enjoy light meals and liquid refreshments."In the evenings and in the winter, the splay of light from the window will illuminate the footpath and help to create a sense of safety and security while animating the space."
