The proposed design for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic village has been revealed. The Queensland government’s render, released on Friday, shows tree-lined streets with a backdrop of multiple high-rise unit buildings at Hamilton’s riverfront Northshore area.

The state government wants to create a boulevard lined with native trees that will cover up to 80 per cent of the roadway in shade when they reach maturity. Construction of the athletes’ village is expected to start at the end of the street rejuvenation, which expected to be years from now. Some 10,000 athletes will reside in the village during the games. “It will be a fantastic base for them to experience all that Brisbane and southeast Queensland have to offer,” Premier Steven Miles said.
