The site has been vacant since 2021
A planning application has been submitted requesting to change a former dog grooming business into an apartment. Rushcliffe Borough Council received the application last month which seeks to create a one bedroom apartment in the former shop unit in Beeston.
The dog groomers closed in 2021 and the building has been unoccupied since. To meet the national standards of a living space, there would need to be a single storey front extension on the building in High Road to create enough usable space for the creation of a single bedroom apartment. The building itself can be accessed from the main road via an alley, but due to its central location there will be no parking. The area is largely retail, but there are already some residential spaces above shop units.
