It is hoped the first pupils will arrive next September
Plans for a new 315-place primary school have been unveiled by Nottinghamshire County Council at Worksop ’s Gateford Park development. It follows longstanding calls for the new school to be built on the 750-home Gatekeeper Way site seven years after wider planning permission was approved.
A 150 per cent expansion in the second phase would then take the capacity of the school up to 315 places at a later date. The planning application was submitted by the council at the start of March and the council hopes to debate the plans at a meeting this summer. “The Section 106 [developer contribution] agreement was signed in May 2015 and we’re still waiting.” The authority has since responded to the petition in a new report, with Cllr Keith Girling , cabinet member for asset management, outlining the council’s plans.
