When Bill France, leader of the Plano Texas Neighborhood Coalition, addressed the council, he ditched his prepared speech and asked what the city is trying to accomplish with a task force.
After viewing the tentative breakdown, several council members said the task force must be localized, diverse and focused on gathering information. “At the end of this, we will be able to adopt some permanent measures based on outreach data, research and recommendations of the community,” Day said. “And those may replace or continue interim measures as we see fit.”
This will conclude in a report and updates to planning and zoning and the council, Day said. The Phase 2 outreach process could last from fall 2023 through spring 2024, according to Day.
