The Local Good Center, a Plano-based nonprofit, is hosting Collin County’s Foster Care Open House on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at 2201 K Ave. Attendees will learn about resources and steps for supporting the foster care community. Local agencies will also offer information on how to become a foster family.Individuals, groups and families will be invited to get involved based on which options work for them.The Local Good Center offers programs designed for education and transformation. Those include classes for learning English as a Second Language , U.S. citizenship exam preparation, parenting, marriage enrichment and computer basics.
The nonprofit also works with local schools, school districts and the city of Plano to help children, families and neighborhoods across Dallas and Collin Counties, according to its
