to prohibit STRs from single-family residential neighborhoods. They say the activity at the properties are a nuisance and that the existence of the properties contributes to other community issues. Since the last update, the city has worked with Deckard Technologies, which provides third-party STR data. Deckard is monitoring STR platforms and cross-referencing the information with public data to identify STRs in the city, according to Day’s letter. Day wrote that many of the more than 3,600 data points were duplicative or inactive and that as of Monday, the review is about 50% complete.

Plano has worked with Gap Strategies for the public outreach process, and an internal meeting was held March 2 to initiate that, Day wrote. Gap Strategies will review the work product and present the proposal to the City Council and the Planning & Zoning Commission. A timeline and survey questions were to be produced the week of March 6, according to Day’s letter.
