The city could purchase three of the properties — Armstrong Middle School, Davis Elementary School and Forman Elementary School, according to the agreement. The district is expected to keep ownership of Carpenter Middle School and may repurpose it,The interlocal agreement outlines how the city and district would work toward the possible purchase of the three schools after they close. The district will demolish the schools before the property is sold, according to the agreement.
“This agreement represents a significant step in our process of responsibly managing district resources,” Plano ISD Board President Nancy Humphrey said in a statement. “It ensures that these properties will continue to serve our community while upholding neighborhood integrity. We appreciate the City of Plano’s collaboration in this endeavor.”
