The Palisades Fire began Tuesday morning and has destroyed 1,000 structures. At least two people have died during the wildfires, authorities announced Wednesday. The second fire, the Eaton Fire, started Wednesday near Pasadena.A third fire, the Hurst Fire, has prompted evacuations in Sylmar. The fires ignited during extreme Santa Ana winds in Southern California. Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency in California, which will bring additional firefighting resources to the region.
