The hit action-thriller “Plane” is setting sail with its sequel entitled “Ship.’

While the original Lionsgate film focused on Gerald Butler, the sequel will headline Mike Colter, who played the accused murderer Louis Gaspare in the first movie.

In the original movie, he escaped extradition to Canada when Trailblazer Flight 119 crash lands in the Philippines, forming an unlikely partnership with Gerald’s Captain Brodie Torrance to rescue the plane’s passengers and crew from pirates on a dangerous remote island, according to The Hollywood Reporter .

The same report added: “The sequel will see Gaspare hop aboard a cargo ship in East Asia to escape the Philippines, only to discover the vessel is being used as a ferry for a human trafficking ring. That has Gaspare joining with the second mate/navigator to take down the ship’s corrupt captain, keep its innocent passengers safe and liberate its captives.”

MTRCB Chairperson Lala Sotto-Antonio had acceded to Senator Robin Padilla’s request that “Plane” should be banned in the Philippines. Sotto had revealed that the Hollywood flick would no longer be shown in Philippines after Pioneer, the company that distributes the film, wrote her office that it was withdrawing the film.to buyers at the European Film Market in Berlin ahead of a schedule late 2023 shoot, added THR.
