Bradley Tippetts flew back to Salt Lake on Monday. 2News asked him if these different stories about aircraft equipment issues were concerning to him. Rob Bennett, an experienced mechanic turned instructor, said right now there’s a huge demand in the aviation maintenance industry, and his students see that despite the headlines.

"If anything, it probably affects them positively, thinking, 'Hey, maybe I need a little better training'," he said. "Maybe I need to pay a little more attention in class so that I understand these things so that maybe I won't make mistakes that could lead to something like that happening'.""The average age of aircraft mechanics right now is within five years or so of retirement," he said.
