“The closures could be a monster for drivers if they don’t prepare and map out their weekend travels around the region,” WSDOT said. Those traveling across Lake Washington on State Route 520, north on Interstate 405, south on SR 167, or on I-5 through the Tacoma, Fife, and Federal Way area should plan ahead for substantial closures this weekend, beginning Friday night, Sept. 27.
The westbound 520 off-ramp to Montlake Blvd. and Lake Washington Blvd. will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday, September 23 through Thursday, September 26.Northbound I-405 will be closed from North Southport Drive/Sunset Boulevard Northeast to Coal Creek Parkway Southeast from 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27 and 4 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30.
