World Awaits First Briefing on Ethiopia, Tigray Peace TalksAfrican Union Representative and chair of the peace talks between Ethiopia and Tigray, is scheduled to provide a briefing to the media today in Pretoria, according to South Africa's department of international relations and cooperation. The briefing is the first formal communication since the AU-led peace talks were launched on Tuesday October 25, 2022. It was scheduled to end on Sunday October 30, 2022 but has since been extended as parties continued engaging in the talks. The talks led by Obasanjo, is also being attended by former Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta and former deputy president of South Africa, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka. Representatives of IGAD, the UN and U.S., are participating in the talks as observers.
