Pittsburgh Steelers slot cornerback Beanie Bishop is not playing for undisclosed reasons.
Bishop is off to the side in street clothes. At some point during the team’s physical practice against the Buffalo Bills, it appears that Bishop sustained an injury. There are no visible signs of the injury, as Bishop is not wearing a boot, sling, or any other medical device that would indicate an injury.to his teammates during their warmups. As of now, it is unclear who the starting slot cornerback will be. It could be, suspended for the season’s first eight games.
Bishop is already in unprecedented territory as a defensive back or any position that could be a Week 1 starter for the Steelers. However, his strong play throughout training camp has shown that he deserves to be in consideration for that job. Yet, an injury could throw a wrench in all the plans for him to play in Week 1 if it is significant enough for him to miss any length of time leading up to the season.
