While his five pressure and a sack will add more to his legacy, Heyward played his 200th career game with the Steelers . Only five other players had reached that mark with the Steelers before.
Soon enough, Heyward will set the record for most games a defensive player plays in franchise history. He tied Mel Blount for second all-time on that list and trails Donnie Shell for the team record of 201 games. He did this all for Heyward with one team, which is a rare feat in the modern NFL. According to Steelers Depot’s Alex Kozora, Heyward is just the 65th player inWhen Heyward signed his new contract, he set the record for the most expensive contract for someone 35 or older on the defensive side of the ball. Heyward will make $15 million per year, but right now, that deal looks like a steal as Heyward is still an elite-level player at 35 years old.
