The Pittsburgh Steelers' future opponent, the New York Giants, lost one of their best pass rushers for a long time.
New York Giants linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux reacts after sacking Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott during the second quarter of an NFL football game, Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024, in East Rutherford, N.J. Future Pittsburgh Steelers opponent, the New York Giants, lost standout pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux to a fractured scaphoid bone in his wrist, the team announced. Thibodeaux will miss the next 4-6 weeks, and the Giants will not have him for their clash against the Steelers in two weeks.
New York’s defense will present a challenge in two areas of the game, but in particular, defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence and edge rusher Brian Burns are two players that can wreck a game. However, with Thibodeaux, they have another weapon to set free. The Steelers will at least avoid that aspect of what could be a ferocious pass rush given the team’s weaknesses on the offensive line due to injury. .
