Patterson had an impressive game against the Colts before exiting with the injury. His familiarity with Arthur Smith’s scheme should allow him to maintain a role even with the backfield fully healthy on Monday and moving forward. In addition, Patterson will bring the kick return element back to the Steelers, who have lacked any sort of spark in their kick return game.
Patterson signed a two-year deal with the Steelers this offseason, following Smith from the Atlanta Falcons.
