The news was first reported by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network and confirmed to PennLive’s Nick Farabaugh by an NFL source.Johnston’s injury serves an additional blow to the Steelers’ special teams with Johnston serving as holder for kick Chris Boswell, who kicked a franchise record-tying six field goals in Sunday’s 18-10 win, including three from 50-plus yards .
Johnston is in his seventh year in the NFL, spending his first three years in Philadelphia and the previous three with the Houston Texans. He led the NFL in punting yards in 2021. The Steelers signed the 32-year-old Johnston this offseason after releasing Pressley Harvin III, the team’s punter the previous three seasons. Harvin is currently a free agent and could be tapped for a return to the Steel City., where our team of sports betting experts has reviewed the experience, payout speed, parlay options and quality of odds for multiple sportsbooks.
