During the month, Bishop had three interceptions, with all three coming in the last two games against the New York Jets and New York Giants.
Bishop, who was an undrafted free agent out of West Virginia, has ascended quickly after struggling against the Dallas Cowboys to start the month. Over the last three games since that time, Bishop has gone from the attacked player on the defense to a weapon for the Steelers. Somehow, Bishop is the first Steelers player to win this award since 2001, when outside linebacker Kendrell Bell won the award. So, Troy Polamalu, T.J. Watt, and all of those stars in between never won the award. Bishop now ends the drought with an impressive month, and it is something that he looks to continue into the second half of the season with Cam Sutton returning.
