Nick Herbig is optimistic that he can return after the bye week for the Steelers.
Published: Oct. 31, 2024, 5:00 a.m.said on Wednesday that he is ‘optimistic’ he will be ready to return from a hamstring injury against the Washington Commanders following the Steelers ' bye week. Sources tell PennLive that Herbig’s rehab is going well, and the team does expect him to return for that game.. The Steelres have not had all three top edge rushers playing in the same game since Week 3 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Before getting injured, Herbig racked up 2.5 sacks in place of the injured Alex Highsmith. Highsmith and T.J. Watt have since played well without Herbig, but they are playing well over 80 percent of the snaps without him as an option. With Herbig’s return incoming, he can cut some of that down and help Watt and Highsmith be much fresher as the game goes along.
