The crash happened about 6:20 a.m.
in the westbound direction at the Loveridge Road exit, the CHP said. Reports confirmed by the CHP said that one car overturned and that two people were trapped inside.
The CHP issued a Sig-alert for severe traffic at 6:30 a.m., with no estimated time for the length of the closure. The two far left lanes were opened at 7:25 a.m., but three other lanes still were closed.. That crash was the first of 11 fatal crashes on Highway 4 that have occurred since then. Fifteen people have died in those wrecks.
