A Pittsburg couple has been arrest in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that left a 17-year-old girl dead after she was struck while walking near a school.
Pittsburg police said 34-year-old Roberto Sainez was being held on charges that included vehicular manslaughter, felony hit and run and during with a suspended license.
"We are extremely proud of the swift and hard work our detectives, fatal traffic investigators and evidence technician put into this case to provide the family closure and justice," Pittsburg police said in a Facebook post. Upon arrival, they discovered the17-year-old lying in the street, suffering from injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.
