Pitt wide receiver Deuce Spann misspelled his own name while declaring for the NFL Draft.
Published: Jan. 08, 2026, 3:08 p.m.At the bottom of the graphic, he closed out his announcement with “Duece Spann” instead of the correct spelling of his name, which is “Deuce Spann.”, it is unlikely that Spann made his own graphic.
With that said, it should have been an easy fix for whoever did make the graphic for him. A former star high school quarterback in Florida, Deuce Spann started his college football career at Illinois, before transferring to Florida State. The 6-foot-4 receiver spent three seasons at FSU, managing only 10 total receptions, before transferring to Pitt ahead of the 2025 season. Spann caught 13 passes for 142 yards for the Panthers in 2025. He also returned kickoffs for Pitt, averaging more than 22 yards per return. Spann finished his college career with five touchdowns. Two of those came this season as he caught a touchdown pass and ran for a score while helping Pitt to an 8-5 record, including a 6-2 mark in the ACC.“I would like to thank God for making this possible. Thank you for my mother and family for the love, support, and being there for me throughout my journey. To my coaches, teammates and the training staff, thank you for the memories and life lessons that we have all shared together. At this time I want to announce that I will be declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft.
