Veronica Elizabeth Polley faces a charge of attack by dog resulting in serious bodily injury after an incident this week Northwest of San Antonio, according to Bexar County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) officials. The BCSO posted a graphic photo reel on its Facebook page that includes a photo of the victim whose lip was partially dangling from his face.
The post also includes images of the suspect and her dog and information about the case. Polley was arrested on Thursday. A judge set her bail at $85,000, court records show. Deputies responded to a dog-biting incident on Tuesday in the 8400 block of Shooter Cove, near Loop 1604, according to the BCSO social media post. A 43-year-old man and his wife were walking their dog when the pitbull attacked their dog, BCSO said. 'The victim managed to stop the pitbull from attacking his dog before the pitbull turned on him, attacking him and dragging him to the ground,' BCSO wrote. BCSO said the victim sustained serious facial injuries to his lips, chin, and cheek, requiring immediate medical attention. He was transported to University Hospital for treatment. Deputies identified Polley as the owner of the pitbull. Neighbors told deputies that the dog had been involved in previous attacks. They also shared surveillance video of the incident
