A prominent Muslim preacher has expressed surprise how even after half a century of Malaysia’s independence, there are still villagers forced to bury their dead by walking for miles in Sabah due to no proper roads to the villages.
Syamsul Amri Ismail, or famously known as Ustaz Syamsul Debat, was seen in a viral 3 minute 50 second TikTok video expressing his shock over the atrocious road conditions in Sabah despite being administered by Barisan Nasional, Warisan and now GRS. The areas cited were Pitas and Kota Marudu which were Sabah Umno and PBS strongholds for the most part and now under Parti KDM and PGRS.
