The eradication of basic pit toilets at schools has already begun, Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga said following the deaths of two children in Limpopo. PitToilets

Basic Education Department says its making strides to get rid of pit toilets despite Limpopo court battle

Of these schools, Motshekga said 1 159 with “appropriate toilets” have already been constructed. In Limpopo, 170 schools out of 455 have benefited from the programme so far. To this, Motshekga said there were two initiatives related to the programme to ensure the safety of children.
