According to a press release, Paolo aimed to show the “Juliet that exists in every woman” with the calendar. Each actress featured is shown in two lights. The first finds the stars clad in modern clothing whereas the second sees them in period pieces that evoke true Shakespearean vibes. The duality between the two images points to Paolo's overarching mission in showing how the concept of "Juliet" is different yet present in every woman.
"There’s no Romeo here, there are only Juliets who show up for a casting call, respond to questions, and reveal their own version of the character before re-enacting a passage from the tragedy, in costume,"
