Having joined the Houghton-based side from the now-defunct Bidvest Wits in 2020, the lanky marksman’s original three-year deal would have expired at the end of June.
Initially, he had been expected to leave the club after he struggled with form when he first arrived, but after managing to turn around his season in the second half of 2022/23, his fortunes changed. The Zimbabwean featured in 13 matches in the league in the second half of the campaign, scoring seven goals and adding two assists.
The 29-year-old’s form saw his relationship with the team’s fans improve noticeably after they initially put him under pressure, even booing him in some instances.
