Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro has explained how he plans to use striker Evidence Makgopa after he featured for a lengthy period in a 1-0 win against SuperSport United. SLInt MORE:

Makgopa's career at Pirates was disturbed by a long-term injury he sustained during pre-season after he was signed from Baroka.

"I think he has a fantastic potential to be an important football player. I think Evidence is not exactly a target player, he's not a number nine. It's a number nine who needs spaces to exploit, to run," Riveiro said in a press conference. "When we substituted Kermit it was because they changed and started playing with a back-four, so we don't need a link anymore, we have enough players inside when they become more flat with a back-four.

The Spanish tactician also explained that he wanted Makgopa to exploit the space created by Thembinkosi Lorch, who was dragging the SuperSport full-back.
