This contest is BC’s third Pinstripe Bowl appearance; the Golden Eagles lost their first two matchups back in 2014 and ’17. Today, Bill O’Brien’s club hopes to avenge their losses behind backup quarterback Grayson James and running back Kye Robichaux. In the final game of the regular season, James threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns in a commanding 34-23 win over Pitt.
On the other end, the Cornhuskers are making their first bowl game appearance since 2016’s Music City Bowl, which they lost to Tennessee. To add insult to injury, Matt Rhule’s squad dropped their final game of the season against Iowa. There were a few bright spots in the heartbreaking 13-10 defeat where they were up 10-0 at the half; quarterback Dylan Raiola tossed 22 of 32 passes for completions and notched 190 yards.
