Singer and guitarist David Gilmour, of Pink Floyd fame, recently appeared on "The Tonight Show StarringAnd on the program, host Jimmy Fallon couldn‘t resist asking Gilmour several rumors, including one about the connection between Pink Floyd’s “The Dark Side of the Moon” and the classic motion picture.
But the phenomenon, dubbed “The Dark Side of the Rainbow” by some fans, has been labeled as pure coincidence by members of the band in the past.“Of course it was,” he said, before admitting he was joking. “No, I only heard about it years later,” Gilmour told Fallon. "Someone said you put the needle on - vinyl, you know - and you’ve got the film running somehow. And on the third roar of the MGM lion, you put the needle on for the beginning ofGilmour admitted that he‘d tried it before, and added that now it’s even easier to do, since others have done the “donkey work” of combining them already.
