Judgemental commenters shared unsolicited opinions like, "So young its a shame," and, "Isn’t she too young to have her hair dyed?" And while plenty of fans came to her defense, it was fellow vocalist Pink who showed some serious solidarity.
On her own Instagram grid, Pink shared side-by-side photos showing her personally dyeing eight-year-old daughter Willow's bob and a closeup of the fabulous blue results. "I heard people were bummed on Jessica Simpson for letting her seven year old get her hair colored. So we thought we’d share what we did yesterday," Pink wrote in the caption.
The last hashtag refers to how she disabled comments on the photo, and it's not surprising considering how she reacted to the ridiculous mom-shaming comments she received in April. "I like to share my family. It's my proudest achievement in my whole life. I'm prouder of my kids than anything I've ever done. And I won't share them anymore," she told Ellen DeGeneres in an interview. "I'm not posting pictures of them anymore. And I understand people saying: 'You should have been more careful because you're in the public eye,' and they're right — but there's a nice way to say that. There's a kind way to be online.
And if trolls aren't willing to show her that kindness, she's happy to show it to fellow parents in the public eye like Jessica Simpson.
