The Pig Stand will serve its last meal Sunday, marking the end of an era for its signature pig sandwiches, fish and chips and other classic diner fare that started in 1921 when the restaurant brand launched out of Dallas.

The neon glow of the signature Pig Sandwich sign is shown inside the main dining area of the Pig Stand. Hill had been prepared to close for months, but attributed the timing of this weekend's closing to a recent doctor visit.Hill said the restaurant will be open Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., or until they run out of food.
