After a great deal of speculation, it is now official that Gasly will leave AlphaTauri at the end of the 2022 season to join Alpine, taking the seat that will be vacated by Fernando Alonso.
Gasly acknowledged it has been “up and down” with Ocon in that regard but, now united in the cause to push themselves and the Alpine team forwards, Gasly hopes this will allow for bridges to be rebuilt.Formula 1 website “Our relationship has been going up and down since, it’s not new to anyone. I would say since we arrived in F1, it got better. We both achieved one of our dreams but went through different stages. [There is no point] comparing Esteban when we were six, 12, 18 and now 26 – we grew up a lot.
