Rodney Culver Jr. passed away on July 14. Culver Jr. graduated from Pickerington Central in 2015 after countless highlights on the court and being a part of the state championship team in 2012."I think about him every day," Coach Howard said.saying, "Tiger Basketball lost a great one." and in another post said, "A tremendous player. A better person.""Rodney was a kid that cared about people. That loved people. That wanted to be happy all the time.

He was just as influential with how he played basketball. He eventually went on to play for Ohio University. "His aggressiveness, he never took plays off. He always went hard on the court. I'm a stickler for guys going hard on the court, and Rodney was one of those guys," Howard said."It's a tough situation for everybody, not just them but the community. He had a lot of great friends," he said.

There will be a vigil at Victory Park in Pickerington at 8 p.m. on Monday to remember the young athlete. "His dad said something to me last night that's very important. He said I want this to be a celebration of Rodney's life, and I think that's what Rodney would want," he said.
