Division I college prospect Landon Evans scored 21 points with nine rebounds as the Tigers secured their second win in 24 hours at the Scholastic Play By Play Classic on Saturday.
GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio — In less than 24 hours, Pickerington Central left the Columbus area and had enough in the tank to open Saturday’s Scholastic Play By Play Classic in Garfield Heights with another double-digit win.
“It gives us the confidence to go into Tuesday vs. our rivals,” said Pickerington Central junior Landon Evans, who scored 21 points with nine rebounds. “It was a great win for us.” That rival will be Pickerington North. The Tigers also have undefeated Newark on the horizon a week after that. On Saturday, though, Evans gave Northeast Ohio a peek at his potential as a Division I college prospect. The 6-foot-5 wing holds scholarship offers from Cleveland State, Duquesne, Marshall and several Mid-American Conference schools, including Miami , Kent State and Toledo. He dueled with Garfield senior Rayshawn Hamilton, who led the Rams — ranked eighth in the— with 18 points.
