It’s been seven years since Pia Wurtzbach took home the Miss Universe crown!
On Instagram Stories, the beauty queen, who’s "confidently beautiful with a heart," looked back on her Miss Universe journey through a reposted video clip of her winning moment.
“An unforgettable moment,” Pia wrote with a blue heart emoji. “It’s been 7 years[,] and I’m so grateful that all of you have kept supporting me all these years.” In 2015, Pia was hailed as Miss Universe, albeit controversially, after host Steve Harvey mistakenly named Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez the winner. Steve immediately admitted his mistake and corrected himself, proclaiming Pia as the rightful winner.Earlier this month, Steve announced heThe next Miss Universe pageant will take place in the US city of New Orleans on January 15, 2023 , where Celeste Cortesi will represent the Philippines.
