) - New photos are being shared with WSFA 12 News following Monday afternoon’s fire at the International Paper mill in Prattville .
The Prattville Fire Department released three photos showing the situation at the mill, located on Jensen Road.The scene was contained by Monday night but International Paper said that Prattville firefighters remain onsite, as of Tuesday, to help the mill’s emergency response team with suppression efforts.The Alabama Department of Environmental Management said it was not the lead agency but that it did respond to the scene.
A spokesperson said “ADEM has confirmed that the water used for firefighting has been contained and has not been discharged to any local waterways, and the contained water will be tested to ensure there are no water quality concerns.” Fire officials got reports of falling ash around the facility.
