Peek inside the futuristic floating Apple store that is about to open in Singapore:
The sphere is a first-of-its-kind, all-glass dome structure that is fully self-supported, comprised of 114 pieces of glass with only 10 narrow vertical supports. At the top of the dome, an eye-like oculus lets in light, while louvered sunshade rings line the interior glass, giving relief from direct sun during the day and providing a nighttime lighting effect. Trees planted in enormous pots provide additional shading inside the dome....
A second clue that Apple expects this store to be a big tourism draw is that the 148-person staff of retail associates and tech-savvy “Apple Geniuses” collectively speak over 23 languages.
