According to the Bureau of Land Management, there are 16 fires burning 878,000 acres in Oregon and 13 fires in Washington burning 676,000 acres. Smoky air, which turned some city skies dark orange in the past week, threaten the respiratory health of residents living close to the fires, especially as the West Coast continues dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic.
