You’ve probably seen the reports over the last few weeks; The Montgomery Humane Society has been is inundated with pets that are in need of a new home. The shelter doesn’t expect the trend will ease any time soon.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - In fact, the number of animals coming into the facility will most likely continue rising throughout the spring!
Instead of just reporting on the overcrowding issue, WSFA 12 News is working to help solve the problem. In order to help get these animals into their forever homes, we’ve teamed up with the Montgomery Humane Society to host an Adopt-A-Thon, Thursday, April 11. For one day only, adoption prices are being slashed to help get these animals out of the shelter and into the arms of their new owners.The WSFA 12 News Adopt-A-Thon will run from 10:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Montgomery Humane Society, located at 1150 John Overton Drive.
WSFA 12 News will broadcast live from the shelter throughout the day, starting with Today in Alabama and running through WSFA 12 News at 6.Each of these animals is available, as of Thursday morning.
