Photos | Hundreds of revellers donned their best and most creative costumes and welcomed the Cape Town Carnival back to the Mother City on Saturday
Cape Town mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis, who cut the ribbon that opened the floodgates to the festival, said he was excited to see the growth of the event pick up from where it left off before Covid-19.

In addition, five new floats, five set designs and various art pieces were integrated into the individual shows.Several life-sized and giant art pieces were displayed along the carnival route.
