With much of the art world locked down during the coronavirus pandemic, a collection of about 50 creatives took part in a DIY project this week on their balconies to raise Berliners’ spirits

Organizers created a map with guides on where and when to look up available to download so people could find each of the balconies“Balconies today are the thresholds from which we can encounter the world during the confinement of the domestic,” organizers wrote

. “While our freedom of mobility is on hold, they become unique sites of everyday performance or even civic mobilization.”The project is the latest example of people turning to their balconies to connect with their neighbors as much of the world is under coronavirus lockdown—In March, residents in cities all over Italy were recorded
