Marchers, drivers, and floats representing a variety of community, civic, and commercial organizations including PFLAG, the Chicago Gender Society, the Human Rights Campaign, the Chicago Black Men’s Caucus, and the Puerto Rican Cultural Center.

As always, the combination of commercial interests, politicians, and longtime community staples made for some interesting neighbors in the parade lineup. A flatbed dance floor for performers from Roscoe’s Tavern followed by a group representing Tyson Foods was an interesting juxtaposition. Still, the prevailing attitude was fun, festive, and uplifting–especially in the wake of a few years of waning visibility due to a downturn of in-person events.
