by a Lancaster City Police officer in Lancaster’s Constitution Square while she was covering the Donald Trump town hall even Sunday evening.
Susan Stava, the photojournalist, said she’s been covering events like the Trump rally for over 30 years. “I’ve been to MAGA marches. I’ve been to January 6. I’ve been to a lot of places," Stava said, "and you know, I’ve never been pushed."“I think Trump was already inside the Convention Center. So, with that, people were sort of leaving and finding other venues. I was hanging out outside with a few other journalists, and then we saw that there was Democratic Harris-Walz protestors up at the Square,” Stava said.
She began photographing the Democratic protestors when a group of Trump supporters came over to them.“They were actually a bunch of young kids. They were trying to cover the signs, and they were throwing them the finger, and giving them the dry fists,” Stava said.She turned her back for a second and then heard a Democratic protestor yell that one of her friends was being arrested.And I said, ‘I’ll get a photo of her. That’s what I do.
Stava said she feels like the officer who shoved her should be suspended or removed from the force altogether.
