"It's so impossible to start anywhere other than from zero, right? Abolish is the only answer. Because [the police are] slave catchers. ... [This system] effectively put poor white people in power over somebody. And that's definitely still true, this bad cop propaganda that is fed to working-class people like, 'This is your way to have control.

“So it's just nice starting to roll the ball and then just watching it take off. Really validating and cool.”
