An earthquake with a magnitude measuring 4.9 jolted Abra on Sunday evening, March 26, state seismologists said. ManilaBulletin READ:
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the epicenter of the quake was detected four kilometers southwest of Danglas, Abra. The seismic event was tectonic in origin and it occurred at around 8:38 p.m.
Based on the automatic solution published by Phivolcs, the quake was “moderately strong” at Intensity IV in Vigan City and Banayoyo, Ilocos Sur as well as Tineg, Lagayan, and Lacub Abra. It was also felt at Intensity II in Sinait, Ilocos Sur; Batac, Ilocos Norte; and City of Baguio. Intensity I was also reported in Paoay, Ilocos Norte.
Meanwhile, Instrumental Intensity IV was traced in Bangued, Abra; Vigan, Ilocos Sur; Instrumental Intensity III in Narvan, Ilocos Sur; Instrumental Intensity II in Sinait and Candon, Ilocos Sur; and Instrumental Intensity I in Peñablanca, Cagayan; and Pasuquin and Batac Ilocos Norte.related stories
