Surveillance video footage proved critical in finding the man convicted in the 2021 Camden shooting.

Upon arriving, police officers found Smith suffering from gunshot wounds on the sidewalk near Kaighn Avenue and Rose Street in Camden. After he was sent just over a mile away to Cooper University Hospital, Smith was pronounced dead at about 4:10 a.m. After the Nissan Maxima was later captured by an automated license plate reader, detectives found the car in the parking lot of an apartment building on the 200 block of Oakland Avenue in Audubon. Surveillance video from that area linked Peaker Jr. — who had been living with his girlfriend at the Audubon address — to the shooting.
Ballistic testing later confirmed all six shell casings were discharged in the same firearm,” authorities said, noting that Peaker Jr. was also seen on video leaving the apartment building several times on the morning of the Aug. 15 shooting.
