It was a notable solid outing for Christian Pache who went 3-for-4 on Saturday afternoon. Bryson Stott also highlighted the win goin 2-for-5 with four RBI.

Cristian Pache, seen here being congratulated by teammates on Friday, was the cause of celebration again on Saturday in Miami after going 3-for-4 in back-to-back Phillies victories against the Marlins.MIAMI — When Edmundo Sosa reached third base in the top of the eighth inning, he grinned. Cristian Pache had just hit a single to left fielder Nick Gordon, who sailed the ball past third baseman Jake Burger and towards the Marlins dugout.

It was a good day for Pache and Stott, in particular. Pache, who went 2-for-5 the night before, went 3-for-4 on Saturday afternoon. Stott went 2-for-5 with four RBI. Once the Phillies took the lead, they didn’t relinquish it. Starter Taijuan Walker saw roughly the same velocity he had in his previous two starts, and limited the usage of his signature pitch — the splitter — but recorded a quality start.

Walker allowed one earned run on eight hits with one walk and four strikeouts over six innings of work. He threw mostly cutters and sinkers to Miami, throwing only 16 splitters of his 86 pitches. His one run came in the fifth inning, off of a solo home run hit by shortstop Vidal Bruján, who hadn’t hit a home run since 2022. It was the fourth home run of Bruján’s young career.

Walker was helped on Saturday by catcher J.T. Realmuto, who caught Jazz Chisholm Jr. stealing in the first inning, and Bruján stealing in the second inning. The bullpen kept the game relatively unexciting. Matt Strahm and Jeff Hoffman each pitched a scoreless frame, and Jose Ruiz pitched the ninth, allowing two hits — including a two-run home run — with two strikeouts.appeared to tweak his back in his first at-bat.
